Preserving Aviation History: How AQRD Keeps the Final Four Beechcraft Starships Flying

AQRD Keeps The Last Four Beechcraft Starships In The World Flying!

AQRD’s new design and engineering capabilities keep these iconic aircraft and a significant piece of aviation history flying into the future.

This week AQRD celebrates its engineers, technicians, mechanics, and experts in the field of aviation. Without their tireless pursuit of safety, quality, and excellence in how they approach their craft, we would not be able to provide innovative solutions to the aerospace industry and our customers. As a testament to their skills and excellence we bring together the 4 last flying Beechcraft Starships in the world. AQRD’s team of experts in aircraft repair, engineering, design, and composites keeps these 4 iconic airplanes flying and we are proud to celebrate together. AQRD’s new larger campus includes advanced composite and airframe repair capabilities opened this year in 2025. We currently have over 60000 sq/ft of hangar space and component repair space designed to support high quality and quick repairs for our customers.

AQRD “Keep EM Flying” always!

Greetings, AQRD friends and family – for those of you blessed to spend time with your friends and family, be safe and rest/enjoy.

For those of you that are working hard to support our customers and “keeping em flying” this weekend, thank you. As without your efforts, we cannot continue to be a growing and profitable company.

I would ask all of you to remember those brave soldiers that have given their lives to ensure our continuing freedoms this weekend. Without those that went to battle, and those that stand ready to do so, we would not be here in this country living the lives we all do.

AQRD Supports Legacy Aircraft by Keeping Beechcraft Starship Flying

AQRD KEEPING BEECHCRAFT STARSHIPS FLYING

Aerospace Quality Research and Development (“AQRD”) continues to showcase its innovative engineering and repair capabilities by supporting legacy aircraft and those no longer supported by the OEM.

This fall AQRD has continued to support the history and heritage of the Beechcraft Starship at their engineering and repair facility at Addison Airport (KADS). After extensive modification, repair, and maintenance AQRD re-delivered serial number – NC-51, BE2000A Starship to its proud owner. NC-51 is based in Aspen, Colorado, and comes to AQRD routinely for upgrades, maintenance, and Modifications. AQRD maintains the technical and engineering expertise to support the starship platform to name a few.

“Keeping the Starship dream alive is core to AQRD’s belief relative to supporting legacy aircraft,” says CEO Raj Narayanan. AQRD also owns, operates, and maintains two airworthy Beechcraft Starships. Currently there are only four remaining airworthy Beechcraft Starships in existence.

AQRD continuously works to find innovative solutions to provide owners options to sustain their aircraft into the future; the Starships are an example of this endeavor. Focus is placed on delivering solutions at a reasonable cost and maintaining the utmost quality in aviation safety and aircraft performance. AQRD continues its development of new technology and applies it to aircraft solutions, whether it’s the Starship or a Textron Cessna Citation Latitude.

Veterans Day 2022

VETERANS DAY 2022

Message from AQRD CEO Raj Narayanan:

Today we take a moment to honor and thank all veterans among us at AQRD and those who have served across the nation. Without their noble and dedicated service we would not be able to celebrate our freedoms as a nation and as Americans. We are blessed to have so many veterans as part of the AQRD family and we are grateful for their leadership, guidance, and exemplary example they set for us all.

Here is a quote from Eleanor Roosevelt that I believe is impactful to remember this Veterans Day.

"Freedom makes a huge requirement of every human being. With freedom comes responsibility" -Eleanor Roosevelt

2022 Memorial Day Message from AQRD CEO Raj Narayanan

2022 Memorial Day Message from CEO Raj Narayanan

AQRD friends and family. This Memorial Day, please take a moment to remember all those that gave their lives protecting our freedom and thank the many around us for serving our great nation past and present. As we can see so evidently from the events of the last few months in Europe – “Freedom is not Free .” We witness the images of many people fighting and dying to be free and have what we as Americans are blessed to have. This Memorial Day, we are blessed to be free and live in such a great country.

As I always close with a quote – I leave you one of my favorites this Memorial Day.

"Duty, honor, country. Those three hallowed words reverently dictate what you ought to be, what you can be, what you will be." Gen. Douglas MacArthur

AQRD Opens Additional Hangars to Expand On Wing AOG Support Capabilities

AQRD OPENS ADDITIONAL HANGARS & EXPANDS ON WING AOG SUPPORT CAPABILITIES

Addison, TX -- Aerospace Quality Research and Development (“AQRD”) has opened two additional hangars in May 2022 for expanded on and off wing repair and AOG support capabilities at Addison Airport (KADS). The new hangars will add 40,000 square feet to existing space and improve AQRD's ability to provide quality service to customers quickly and efficiently to support AOG events. The new area will offer a fully dedicated hangar for on wing AOG structural composite repairs. This expansion will increase capacity for AQRD's growing FAA Part 145 operations and can handle structural, composite, and system repairs for corporate and military aircraft types.

CEO Raj Narayanan is looking forward to utilizing the new hangars and said, "We are always thinking of ways to support our customers better. When the new facility became available for purchase, we knew it would be a great opportunity, especially for additional on wing AOG needs". The hangars will also facilitate the expansion of AQRD's specialized composite processing equipment capabilities. Additionally, AQRD will be performing alterations, on and off wing repairs, and STC upgrades to military, commercial, and corporate aircraft within the new space. This new facility will allow AQRD to provide a higher level of service to customers with a continued focus on engineering-driven, quick turn repairs to get aircraft back into service safer and faster than ever. At AQRD the only solution is the aircraft in the air!
