AQRD has extensive experience leading and incorporating major structural aircraft modifications. This experience includes the following:

  • Certification-incorporating a Infrared camera system and Heads Up Display for transport category aircraft (CL-604, MD-11)
  • Certifying modifications of SWA 737′s for improved hydraulic lines in the engine pylons
  • Acting as the consulting engineer for a major avionics, RF, GPS upgrade to a Bombardier CRJ aircraft for a modification house and client
  • Certification of multiple aircraft STC¹s and field approvals for GPS, radar system changes, sat-com, and data links for transport category aircraft.
  • Certification of a 767 with an improved I/R heads up display system.

AQRD has extensive experience working with modification houses across the country and with the FAA in coordinating and establishing defined process flows for quick, logical certification of aircraft modifications.

We are currently leading three certification programs. These programs include major aircraft modifications, which encompass avionics and structural changes to aircraft.
These programs involve working with the modification house, the FAA and the customer to make sure the best engineering practices are used, proper certification methods are utilized and high quality solutions are employed.

AQRD currently has a team of certified FAA designees, engineering personnel and an established relationship with the ACO in multiple regions. All of whom can assist in developing quick, high quality approaches to aircraft modifications and their supporting substantiation/certification requirements.
